GHOST BUFFALO CD RELEASE...

I first found out about Ghost Buffalo because they are on my friend Virgil's record label, Suburban Home. After one song, I knew they were good. And then to find out that the guitarist is the original guitarist for Planes Mistaken For Stars... well, I was hooked.

They had a CD release party for their new album "The Magician" at the Larimer Lounge here in Denver, and it was a great night. I spent the first part of the night hanging out with Scooter (singer for the seminal Denver band Pinhead Circus and currently Love Me Destroyer) and his lovely lady, Sarah. Really cool kids. The line-up that night was diverse in sound and well suited... Robert Edward Louis III (the well-aged voice of a country/folk veteran in the body of a 30 year old), Only Thunder (Hot Water Music meets A Wilhelm Scream), Git Some (Black Flag, if they made a screamo/metal record) and Ghost Buffalo.

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon for the night:
Robert Edward Louis III - touring drummer for Planes Mistaken For Stars
Only Thunder - bass player also plays in Love Me Destroyer
Git Some - singer from Kingdom of Magic and guitar player from Planes Mistaken For Stars
Ghost Buffalo - original guitar player from Planes Mistaken For Stars

I have also posted some low-quality videos (thanks to no lighting) on my new YouTube page. If you are interested, Aversion is streaming the entire new Ghost Buffalo album. Enjoy.

Marie from Ghost Buffalo was feelin' it.

Matt was absolutely amazing on guitar that night.
