JUST DOIN' IT FOR THE CAUSE...

Left to right - Ben(Ghost Buffalo), Jed(Ghost Buffalo), Marie(Ghost Buffalo), John Baxter, Justin Hackl (Only Thunder), Matt(Ghost Buffalo) and a guy named Mike.

Friday night... local promoter, band manager, and all-around good guy John Baxter organized a Scleroderma Awareness Benefit show at the Hi Dive. Scleroderma is a chronic connective tissue disease that John has. The line up that night was Khale, Ian Cooke, Ghost Buffalo and Killfix. It was a night of great music for a great cause. To learn more about John and his life with the disease, watch this short video. To learn more about Scleroderma, check out the Scleroderma Foundation site or watch this short video that was played at the show.

Here are some photos from the evening. I have also posted 4 new Ghost Buffalo videos and 1 Ian Cooke video from the show on my YouTube page. Enjoy.

Ian Cooke makes some intensely beautiful music with his cello and a voice that is indescribable. During his set, he was looping sounds and vocals that made it seem as if he had an entire band.

Matt and his magic flying hair. I'm pretty sure it's the source of his guitar shredability. He was on fire that night... it really reminded me of the heavy guitar sounds he made with Planes Mistaken For Stars.

The Ghost Buffalo kids.

Ghostly Marie... so themey. Get it?

Modern technology cannot capture the speedy hands of Matt Bellinger.

I want to thank John for organizing this show and getting the word out about a disease that I knew nothing about and that affects 300,000 people in the U.S. alone. He is an inspiration to all of us that sometimes forget how good we have it. Like Chelsea's dad says... You never know how lucky you are.
