As many of you know, for the last year I have been working with an amazing band from Oakland called HIJK. After spending 16 months in the studio, their new album "The Pen and The Letter" has hit the streets. This is the first album that the band has released under their new name (fomerly Hijack the Disco). Part of the challenge with designing this record was figuring out to illustrate the name, since it is not actually a word. The album is absolutely fantastic, and it has been getting great reviews. It has been described as "...unabashedly shiny, emotionally driven pop music." Mike, Dave and Trevor put their heart and soul into this project, and it shows. Check out a few tracks here. The album is also available on iTunes.
Below are a few photos from the CD release party at The Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco, which was one of the greatest live shows I have ever seen. Everyone had a great time that night.

Earlier this year, we also worked on a 5-song promo EP for the upcoming full-length. Since the band has been described as "Art Pop," we decided to play with the idea of Pop Art. The sign language on the cover spells out the band name, in case you don't sign. Below is the cover and disc art. Clever, huh...
