yesterday, i walked instead -
missed the crowded train to
join the crowded streets where
foot traffic moves along like
an impromptu urban ballet
i work at imagining the beauty in it:
until there are white washed picket fences
where their faces should be,
leaning weary and haphazard in front
of a glass and rebar sunset.
