CHANGING HOW WE SEE THE WORLD...

Artist Josh Keyes unveiled his new work at the HANG Gallery in San Francisco last night... and, of course, the work is amazing! If you are not familiar with Josh's work... get familiar. Mr. Keyes' art is changing the art world and the way viewers relate to the world around them. Sure, the work is beautifully painted, but it is so much more. Josh examines how the urban landscape clashes with the natural world.

On his site, Josh explains... "My intention is to create work that asks questions about the implications of urban sprawl and its impact on the environment. I am interested in creating psychological narratives set in closed systems that express the behavior of and the interaction between humans and animals. The dystopian model creates a dynamic playing field where I can experiment with these ideas and forms."

I was lucky enough to get to work with Josh at an art store in Oakland for about a year. Aside from his unmatchable talent, he is one of the most caring and honest people I have ever had the pleasure to know.
