The latest from The Daily Show. Giuliani is out, which is great because we don't have to listen to him use 9/11 as a campaign tool anymore. Bastard. Oh yeah, and Jon Voigt is crazy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAVID...
This is David. He is one of my best friends. I took this shot of him last night before we headed out to celebrate his birthday - beer and popcorn at The Phone Booth, then late night PB&J's at Jessica's house. It was good night.

GIANT STRIKES AGAIN...
Mike Giant, the king of all that is tattoo / graf / illustration, has posted some photos on his Fecal Face blog from his latest showing at the Arte Fiera in Bologna, Italy. Unbelievable. This guy can't be beat. Enjoy.

GOOD OL' 24TH STREET...
On my stroll down 24th Street towards the BART station, the smell of what I can only guess is dog being cooked by the man with the wrickety old cart fills my nose. But wait, what's that man doing crouching down near my feet? Oh, just putting a fresh rock on his makeshift crack pipe. Luckily, just a few feet away, a woman is sharing the tales of the Bible with a homeless man who appears to be half listening. She has a small brown bag full of copies of "the good book".
Just another Saturday night in The Mission.

SO FASHIONY...
Yeah, fashiony is a word... get off my back. I just found the site of photographer Anoush Abrar and I am diggin' the photos. Part 60's Euro fashion, part experimental plastic models, part sexy girls... and all good. Enjoy.

I HEART ITALY...
And this film is exactly why. Thanks for putting this up on the Suburban Home site, Virgil.
ONE HELLUVA PARTY...
I almost forgot about this shot I took last month. I was walking to work and saw this bunch of party balloons falling out of a dumpster, lookin' hung over.
BEST NAME EVER...
This is the greatest name for an art show ever...
Milky Way of Breeding Stallions That Roll, Ejaculating by Themselves
Showing now at Adobe Books in SF.
SCREENSAVER WIZARD?...
If anyone knows how to turn this into a Mac screensaver, you will be my new best friend. Check it out. Thanks for the link, Anna.
IN THE BEGINNING...
The blog Watch Great Documentaries Online is also showing one of the most important documentaries I have ever seen, Style Wars. It was the first film to really explore the world of hip hop in New York - graffiti, breakdancing and rap. First appearing on PBS in 1983, it introduced the world to some of the godfathers of graf – SEEN, DONDI, SKEME and many more. It also shows b-boy battles with some of the greatest, including Crazy Legs from the classic Rock Steady crew. It is the best Hip Hop 101 class you can take. Enjoy.
HELVETICA, FOR FREE...
The blog Watch Great Documentaries Online is showing the entire Helvetica:The Movie for free. If you are a designer, type nerd, or just interested in the history of written language - it is worth watching.
Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the proliferation of one typeface (which is celebrating its 50th birthday this year) as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives.
ART + INDUSTRY...
Just found Art for Industry, the work of Travis Cain. Some good stuff... the posters are my favorite.

CRAZY NIKON SITE...
Check out this new Powers of Ten (ish) site for Nikon. So insane - be sure to play around on it for a while. It puts the Earth, people, animals, space and history into perspective.
I LOVE THIS DOG...
I really, really want a French Bulldog. They're so small, but think they are the toughest dog on the block. Just look how excited they get! Thanks for the link Danyel.
THE DARK KNIGHT...
The Dark Knight looks like it might be the best Batman movie yet... even better than Batman Begins! We'll see this summer.
WHITEST DUDE EVER...
That's right... the multi-millionaire Morman, Mitt Romney. I cringe every time I watch this. He's so hood... and by that, I mean the pointy white kind.
A WEEKEND IN COORS COUNTRY...
I flew into Denver late Thursday night, with the goal of finding a great place for Chelsea and I to live. I had set up a bunch of appointments via Craigslist. Some good, some not so good. After an awesome weekend with the coolest kids ever - Danyel and Zack - I left Denver with a new place to live and very little sleep. Here are some shots from the weekend.
My awesome hosts, Danyel and Zack. These kids gave me the grand tour of Denver, and a place to stay. Thanks for the pics Danyel.
This is how I started every morning. A tall cup of Danger Monkey coffee at Under the Umbrella, a good little Congress Park neighborhood spot.
After looking at 15 or 16 apts in a day and a half, I found this amazing duplex. Once I saw it, I knew it was the right place. On February 8th, this will be our new home in Congress Park.
This is living room/dining room, with all of the current tenant's crap.
The view from my front door.
This is Cheesman Park, a huge park about 8 blocks from my new place. A lot of people walking dogs and hangin' out.
For you urban dwellers, that is a squirrel.
This is my new buddy, Rocko. Rocko is Danyel's fierce little Chihuahua guard dog.
Unfortunately, we didn't take any pics of Friday night's hijinks - Tecates, a club called Lipgloss, Brent and his skinny jeans, cross-dressers who didn't even bother to shave, hipsters, faux hawks, James and his red sweats, James trying to ditch 2 girls in a high-speed chase, late night breakfast burritos at Chubbys, a bunch of dudes yellin' about going to a strip club, more Tecates at Zack's place, and crawling into bed at 4:30 a.m.
Damn, that was a good night.
Saturday night we rolled over to the Rockbar. Its a hotel lounge turned into bar/club. As you can see from the photo, they serve Mad Dog 20/20. I'm not kidding. Seriously. After seeing about 10 people get kicked out in the span of 5 minutes, I was thinking that serving MD might not be the best idea. Oh yeah, and Danyel's friend punched some big girl in the face. Just keepin' it real.
On Sunday, Danyel and Zack took me on a little local tour. Our first stop was Red Rocks, just outside of Denver. You might know Red Rocks from the classic U2 concert there.
This place is amazing. Apparently, they show movies here in the summer. I can't wait.
Then we were off to Golden... yup, the home of the All-American Coors beer. It also happens to be the home of this super rad river that you can kayak in from here to downtown.
Beware of the New Zealand mud snail!
Obligatory graffiti shot. There isn't much there, but I'm sure I'll find some hidden spots or warehouse or squats.
Looks like Space Invader may have rolled through town.
Just a great sign for this tiny old bike shop.
I love this sign for a dog grooming shop.
And this guy was just inside the door.
I am definitely getting any future ink done here. I love tat-2s... there might as well be a friggin' emoticon on the sign.
I'M BACK...
First off, let me apologize for being so bad about updating the blog over the last month. Things have been crazy busy - freelance projects, the holidays, and the decision to move to Denver next month. Yup, that's right... I'm off to Denver. It's time for a change, and after a long talk with my girlfriend Chelsea, we decided that was the spot. I was there last weekend and found a great place for us to live. I will post some pics from the trip tomorrow.
Anyhoo... I promise to be better about posting daily. I still want people to send in a list of their last 10 iPod songs, along with a photo. This way, we can all find out about some new music... or at least make fun of someone for their love of Winger.
JAM OF THE WEEK...
Make it Rain is so damn good. Check out the line-up... Fat Joe, Birdman, R. Kelly, Lil' Wayne, T.I, Ace Mack & Rick Ross.
"Don't ask me what my name is.
Stupid bitch, I'm famous."
- R. Kelly (he can say anything and girls still flock... the Mike Tyson of R&B)
TAG, YOU'RE IT...
The Nashville gallery TAG has some great artists in its corral... including local favorites, John Casey and Josh Keyes. That mind-blowing pair has the next show at the TAG gallery. Enjoy...
Michael McConnell
John Casey
David McClister
REMEMBER ME?...
Holy crap. I thought Mase sucked when he was P. Diddy's little sidekick, but this is ridiculous. Rapper turned gangster... and now a preacher. Sounds a lot like Hammer. Nice blazer, dude. Thanks for the link Ed.
SCARY STATS ABOUT ENERGY...
Good Magazine recently put out this graph on the hidden energy being used in our everyday lives. Scary.
TRACY MORGAN EQUALS DAMN FUNNY...
Recently, Tracy Morgan has become one of my favorite comedians. He was always good on SNL, but he has really grown into his own... drunk or sober.
Favorite quote - "Have you ever broke a Puerto Rican dude's arm for sweat pants money?"
My favorite...Tracy Morgan is Totally Awesome
Tracy Morgan appears on WGN
Tracy Morgan on Jimmy Kimmel
Tracy Morgan Wasted on Live TV
Last, but not least... Tracy Morgan in Blackass

LIFE ISN'T PRETTY...
Whether you want to see photos of crackheads in squalor, birds in flight, Nazis in Belgrade, dog fights in Brazil, or just plain ol' crazy folks... Boogie is your man. Start off every morning with his daily photos. Be warned, some of the photos are about as intense as any I have ever seen.
IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS...
After spending a little time on my favorite blog, Design Sponge, I found the work of artist Holly Ormrod. Her work is tiny, but beautiful.
TICKLING THE IVORIES...
SF and its art scene (well... the Mission art scene), as seen through the lens of Jesse Pollock. I present to you, unpiano.
MECHANIZED MINUTIAE...
If you have never seen the work of Tim Hawkinson, please leave this blog right now and check it out. PBS and its Art:21 series has a great piece on him with some videos of his work. Seen above is the Überorgan. Enjoy...
THE 411 ON... WELL, THE 411...
This is an interesting article discussing various data visualizations and infographics. Pretty cool stuff. Go geek out on all of the info. Thanks Matt.
