GOTTA SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT...

After talking about the flea market during our Friday night Bike N' Booze, we decided to check it out yesterday. We visited a very sleepy and kinda hung over Lee at work at Dazbog coffee in my neighborhood for a cup of joe and some food. Then Danyel, Zach, Brandon and I headed out to the Mile High Flea Market, and as the website says "... it's Colorado's largest flea market and is something you have to see to believe." Truer words have never been spoken. Below are some photos from our little field trip. Enjoy.

This was the first person we ran into. Hot damn... there is just something about a woman in flannel, with the masculine hands of a coal miner, unfiltered cigarettes and a butchy mullet that gets me going. Sorry Chelsea.

Zach (Brandon's other half of the Red Squadron) was rockin a new lid. Lookin' good, dewd.

The Badlands 4x4 Express looked pretty fun. In case you can't tell... all of the trucks are sparkly.

Then we found this table, and I named it "Danzig's Wet Dream." This place had the most insane and creepy knife combos I have ever seen. I'm pretty sure it was a hot spot for redneck backyard WWF wrestler wanna-bees. Note the spiked brass knuckles with knives at each end on the bottom right. A personal fave.

This one was another show-stopper. A skeleton hand attached to a massive blade with tribal patterns engraved on it. If you know Ed O'Brien, think "skeleton boardwalks."

Ah yes, the ever-popular arctic wolf painting/knife combo. The carved handle is a nice touch.

Brandon was so taken by the "Hidden Defense" yellow comb knife that he bought it. Killer bro, killer.

Every ass mannequin here was, as Beyonce would say, bootylicious.

Need a gigantic dream catcher? I know where you might be able to find one... with a wolf howling at the moon, of course.

All of you know what a stickler I am for spelling and grammar, so here are a few choice signs we ran across.

This one takes the cake because of the upside down and backwards comma next to the ampersand. Also, the attempt at spelling "batteries" is painful.

This one caught Brandon's eye... and then I told him to go*a*way.

Sad.

Sadder.

Saddest. But the drawings are pretty cool.

For some reason, I don't remember this Nintendo game... but it sure looks like fun. A video board game, that sounds like a great idea!

This poster was incredible. It was the hip-hop all stars, but looked like it was drawn by 10 different people. Can you find The Fresh Prince?

Duh. He obviously does.

Nothing weird here... just some dolls and automatic weapons. Move along, move along.

Sooooo good. A litle something for everyone.

I really wanted this hat, but wasn't sure if I am tough enough. I mean, that hat is straight up gangsta.

These were incredible. They didn't look anything like Nikes, but the fake Jordan logo is priceless.

The "Batbot Changer" reminds me of... hmm... uh... what are those called? Oh yeah, Transformers! I think Batbot Changer is a little catchier, but that's just me.

The fake Hulk Hogan wrestling toy was pretty great, too.

Look at Hulk fighting the Klan. That drawing is the spitting image of him. Go Hulk, Go!!!

Translated, it means "Soap of Saint Death." Brandon agreed that it smelled like death.

I'm guessing that if you have this license plate sign, a divorce is in your near future. So is meth and a truckstop parking lot.

Brandon wanted some new boots for clubbing, and found these sassy little toe tappers.

I don't remember the Aquarius Computer Game System, but it must have been good because the box says "A compact yet powerful system for learning computer programming, playing games, creating graphics in 16 vibrant colors & with your casette you can playback programs." Did you hear that... 16 VIBRANT COLORS!!! Maybe this is from the future.

I love the look of this old camera.

USA! USA! Not sure if you can tell, but this woman's hair would have made any country fan proud.

No need for a double-take, it says Ghanel... and it says it about 1000 times.

The coolest cover design for an atlas.

GET DOWN or LAY DOWN
For some reason, Big Bird has gone 'hood and is choking Oscar the Grouch with a gun in his face. Also, he is wearing a pair of Adidas high tops that are clipped from a photo. The best part is that the dudes in the background are clowning on Oscar. Well, that and the "L" in "Lay Down" is a gun.

Bootleg Lucha Libre masks always make me happy.

At least the human turds out here label themselves with hilarious t-shirts. And yes, he was wearing some sweet Oakleys. High five, bro.

This made me throw up a little in my mouth - clam juice, tomato juice and crappy beer all mixed together. Filthy.

The end... of our society, I mean.

SPEAKING OF CUTE...

This is Teddy and he's a Welsh Corgi. Chelsea found him on Daily Puppy, and I am pretty sure he is the cutest dog ever. I'm not even sure he's real.

NOW I HAVE SEEN IT ALL...

Danyel showed us this video at breakfast yesterday. There is a homeless guy with a rat that sits on a cat, that sits on a dog. They just cruise around town together. Pretty damn cute.

BACK ON THE BLOG...

It's just after midnite here in Denver and after a late night bike ride through the city, I've decided to make a pot of coffee and update the ol' bloggy blog. I can't believe that I've already been in Denver for 3 weeks! I have been so busy that it seems like I just got here. After the worst flu ever (during my one weekend a month with Chelsea... rad), things are starting to settle. My moving boxes are emptied and the house is starting to come together.

I am really happy that I made the move out here for a little bit of a life change. So far everything is great. I want to thank all of the unbelievably cool friends I've made here - especially Danyel, Zach, Virgil and Brent.

NIGHT RIDERS...

Last night was probably the most perfect weather we have had since I got here. Perfect for riding bikes around town and drinkin, that is. I met up with Danyel, Lee and Brandon to grab some grub and PBRs at Steuben's. Cool spot. Good food. During dinner, Brandon shared some knowledge with me. Did you know that a Nalgene bottle (I know, I know... he's from Boulder) is the perfect size to hold a bottle of champagne? Preferably a fine bottle of Andre, or another $6 bottle of bubbly. This little fact made us get up from the dinner table and hit the liquor store across the street. After that we headed over to Gabor's for some drinks, but not before enjoying that Nalgene bottle in the alley while Lee yelled obscenities. Once Zach showed up with a Chrome bag full of Tecates and more champagne, it was off to Cheesman Park. We all rode over to the Pavillion in the park to hang out and enjoy some cocktails al fresco. The fixed gear kids used the slick surface to show off some fresh tricks. Aside from Brandon almost getting hit by a car, it was an awesome night. Here are a few shots...

The pavillion.

Zach attack.

Brent, a.k.a. "Skinny Jeans McShred"

Brandon was showin' off how they do it in Boulder. Check out Danyel's all-white ride in the back. Pretty fresh.

More Brandon, a.k.a. one-half of the Red Squadron.

Zach was killin' it. Some might even say he was "shreddin' balls."

Brent has his own "style."

The other Brandon poppin' a rad wheelie.

WEEKEND IN SEATTLE...

I was in Seattle last weekend for my dad's birthday. It's always fun to head out there because there is so much to do... or not do. He and Diane live on one of the coolest islands I have ever seen - Whidbey Island, in the Puget Sound. It is a great place to relax and play some pool and ping pong.

This photo sums it up, and might explain a little about me.

MY NEW RIDE...

I had a feeling that my little Civic hatchback wouldn't really be the primo car for the ever-changing Denver climate, so I just bought this gem. It's a 2005 Honda CR-V and I love it. If you have never spent any time here, the weather changes daily. It can even snow in the morning and be bright sunshine in the afternoon. Pretty crazy, but I love it.

The day I bought the car.

The next day. No joke.

FAREWELL SAN FRANCISCO...

So I had decided to move to Denver, found a new apartment and packed all my boxes. The fabulous Rachel Maloney took over from there, and planned a great going away party for me. Saturday night at Sadie's Flying Elephant - one of my favorite bars in SF (pool, a great jukebox, free popcorn and $1 Tecates... what's not to love?) Anyhoo... here are some shots from that night. Good times were had by all.

Once again, Kate outdid herself with the cake. This time, she played off my love for the fez and made a leopard print fez cake, complete with tassels. Written on it was "Colorado Elks Association. Newest Member Geoff" So rad. Remember the sock monkey cake for my birthday?

The plan was set... take over the back room of the bar. We assembled the crew and did just that. Chillin' on the red couch with Peter, me, Rachel, Daniel, Kate and Amanda.

Hey look, its the always introverted Anee Mew. Oh wait... she's rockin the new name I gave her, Anee Time. Pretty tough, huh?

And there is Mr. Jeremy Fish talking to Ed. It looks like Ed is trying to show him some hip new dance move. By the way, the sweater Jeremy is wearing is the ACTUAL one worn by The Dude in The Big Lebowski. Amazing.

Anee, her new boyfriend Andrew and Sarah checkin' out the scene at the pool table.

Andrew doing his best Morissey impersonation. Apparently, the chicks dig it.

After trying to samurai chop the cake at my birthday, Kebby was giving me some advice about how to cut this bad boy.

After looking at this photo, I have no idea what the hell was going on... but it looks like a lot of fun! Mike and Anna are in a mid-embrace lovers gaze on the left; Ryan is laughing like he just heard that one about the pope, the rabbi and the midget tranny hooker; Rachel is telling some fantastical story that involves West Side Story-ish hand motions; and Steven can't believe his ears. I swear we did not plan this shot.

Mike is lovin' it, but Anna looks like she could murder someone. Or maybe she just goosed him? I'm not sure.

Peter is definitely having a good time. Such a good dude.

David and Subina living dangerously.

Mike is still excited, and it seems to be contagious.

Dancing machine Casey with the ever-sassy Sean and Paige.

Yeah I look good. So what? I make this silly lookin' scarf sexy.

Me and Mr. Fish enjoying a couple of dee-licious Tecates. He is actually the one responsible for my love of that fine beer. Thanks dood.

I think this is my favorite photo from the party. This also happens to be my all-time favorite photo of Kirk (on the right).

My homies Ed, Caleb and Sarah. I'm not sure what Caleb is doing, but he is stalkerishly close to Ed's lady.

My condolences to your fiancee.

Wow. The best part is that Rachel is helping him with his "measurement".

So, Kate strolls over and says "Hey, can I hit you with the cake?" Me, being a good sport, says "Sure." Little did I know. Damn... that was a direct hit.

The aftermath, part 1. Caleb was loving it.

The aftermath, part 2.

Did you ever watch "Welcome Back Kotter"? The only thing I can think of when looking at this photo is Vinnie Barbarino's classic catch line... "Up ya nose wit' a rubbah hose." In case you didn't know, Mr. Barbarino was played by America's sweetheart John Travolta.

Daniel is sooo sassy, so French.

Me and Mr. Benzler, muggin' up for the camera.

Me and The Mahaloneys.

The models, Paige and Sean.

Me and The Hyers.

The best part of the night was the fact that I hit a growth spurt. See, beer IS good for you!

I have no idea.
